Gaming for Global Change, brace yourselves, because this winter is coming, this winter is counting, this winter is curing. In case you missed our announcement at the Wrap-Up, we are dedicating the next two months to raising money for the benefit of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, through our “Winter is Curing” campaign!
Many children in the world are afflicted with life-threatening diseases, with some lacking medical care due to their socioeconomic status, and many facing a future without a cure. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is aiming to change this reality; by advancing cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Consistent with the vision of their founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based upon race, religion, or their family’s ability to pay. St. Jude’s impact in the fight against pediatric diseases has reached all around the world, and has caused a 60% growth in the survival rate of childhood cancer, and they won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
We hope to support St. Jude’s efforts to end childhood cancer by raising $500 for the charity through our Winter is Curing campaign. We can’t achieve this alone however, and want your help! Donate to the cause using the link below, share the cause with friends and family on social media, and consider streaming for the benefit of the campaign! Any action, support or help you can give assists in the fight against childhood cancer.
As announced at the Wrap-Up event, the Winter is Curing campaign will culminate at the end of December with our next charity marathon, Nintendothon.Nintendothon, our upcoming charity marathon for the benefit of St. Jude, is a 96 Hour gaming event of Nintendo games throughout the decades, including classics like Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda, and recent titles, like 1 2 Switch and Breath of the Wild.
