Hey friends, we only have one week until the flight to Nintendothon Island departs for the New Horizons Festival! We hope you are as excited as we are to kick off the festivities on July 16th, but before then, we’ve got a few more announcements to make! So without further ado, let’s get this week’s update underway, starting with the routine inspection of the flight before it hits the air!

Last December, we hosted the Nintendothon Sword and Shield Draft broadcast on the eve of the event, and felt that it was a decent success, allowing for us to both test our equipment, and provide all of you with some entertainment in the process. We’re deciding to do a similar thing this summer, with the Nintendothon New Horizons: Pre-Flight Check stream!
To help ensure all of our new equipment is functioning properly, we’re going to be bringing you the Pre-Flight Check event at approximately 10PM CT (start time may be subject to change) on the night before Nintendothon New Horizons begins! This event will give you the opportunity to see some of your favorite attendees and games before the marathon even starts, and will additionally allow you to start donating towards incentives and rewards!
Be sure to tune in to the Nintendothon New Horizons: Pre-Flight Check starting at 10PM CT on July 15th, 2020 to get ready for five days of fun. We hope to see you there!

We recognize that everyone is going through different circumstances as a result of the pandemic this summer, and as such, we realize that you all might not be able to contribute much, if anything at all. We on the marathon team want to emphasize that, at Nintendothon, we always value every single person who partakes in the experience, regardless of whether you donate to the campaign, share it with others, or simply just watch the marathon as it runs live. With the pandemic we’re currently all facing, we aimed to emphasize that donations to the Relay for Relief campaign, whether they are one dollar or one hundred dollars, are an above-and-beyond way to support the marathon. As such, we’ve decided to create a system that recognizes all donors in an above-and-beyond way, regardless of how much you are able to contribute.
For Nintendothon New Horizons, we are introducing Leaflets! For every individual donation to the Relay for Relief campaign during Nintendothon New Horizons, regardless of size, your name will be written on a leaf-shaped sticky note called a Leaflet and placed on the wall behind the gameplay couch! Leaflets come in four different colors (red, green, blue, and yellow), allowing for you to get some choice in your color if you’d like it as well! Leaflets will begin to be placed with donations that occur following the start of the Nintendothon New Horizons: Pre-Flight Check event, allowing for you to get your name on the wall before the marathon even starts!
We want to make a note that Leaflets do not replace the writing of names on the Nintendothon New Horizons banner. For a cumulative $10 donated across the whole event, you’ll still get your name written on the event banner to cement yourself physically and permanently in Nintendothon history!
We hope this system makes your contributions to the Relay for Relief campaign in this trying time even more valued, and can’t wait to see a climbing vine of Leaflets covering the wall at Nintendothon!

We’re happy to announce that scheduling for Nintendothon New Horizons is now complete! You can find the completed schedule over at it’s page on the Nintendothon website! We will also soon be integrating the event schedule into the Tiltify campaign page, so you can check there to see what’s up next and when as the event airs live!

As mentioned in the Two Week Update video, there will be only six attendees at the Nintendothon New Horizons marathon to help limit the spread of COVID-19 through our attendee crew. These fantastic people are putting in a lot of time and effort into making this Nintendothon marathon truly spectacular. | She’s the face that helps run the place! Perennial attendee Leyla is excited to bring her technical expertise to Nintendothon New Horizons to keep the event running and entertaining for you at all hours of the day! This will be her sixth Nintendothon event. |
Lindsey
| Who’s that swimming on the horizon? Why, it’s none other than the wacky, lovable and a little bit crazy Lindsey! She’ll be coasting onto Nintendothon Island for her sixth event next week, and can’t wait to spend some time and share some surprises with all of you! |
Chrissy
| Last but certainly not least is our resident engineer, Chrissy! Returning from a hiatus at the previous marathon, Chrissy is super excited to hop into games like Animal Crossing New Horizons and Super Mario Galaxy this marathon! Nintendothon New Horizons is her fifth Nintendothon event. |
